Clifton Scientific Trust is registered charity established in 1991 to promote excellence and relevance in science education through innovative pupil programmes of real life scientific exploration & application, building working partnerships between school & the wider community, so that science is experienced as a creative, questioning human activity. Activities include our award-winning post-16 UK-Japan Young Scientists Programme & our Meet-a-Medic Programme with medical students in primary schools, currently with schools in the Bristol area.

The achievements of the Trust have be formally recognised by the governments of both Britain and Japan in the bestowal of an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II on Trust Director Dr Eric Albone in the 2013 Birthday Honours List and of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays by Ambassador Koji Tsuruoka on behalf of the Emperor of Japan in 2017, https://www.uk.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_en/170606decoration.html Dr Albone’s speech of acceptance outlining the work of the Trust with Japan is attached Japan Society Award (3).
